Due to our continued expansion, we have an excellent opportunity for a HGV Driver to join our team. The successful candidate must possess a certain level of physical fitness as the role will include assisting the drivers assistant with the loading and unloading of goods onto the vehicle. The job role includes, but is not limited to:
· Operating commercial vehicles, up to and over 7.5 tonnes
· Driving long and short distances
· Planning delivery schedules and route with the Transport Manager
· Loading and unloading goods
· Lifting and carrying goods
· Making sure loads are safely secured
· Following traffic reports and adapting routes if necessary
· Completing collection and delivery paperwork
· Keeping up-to-date logbooks
· Carrying out routine vehicle maintenance including tyre, brake and oil checks
Candidate Requirements
· A clean, valid Driver’s Licence, with entitlement to drive Cat C HGV
· No penalties of endorsements
· Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential
· Excellent time keeping
· Self-motivated and resilient, with a strong work ethic
· Good knowledge of public safety and security
· Ability to follow instructions with excellent attention to detail
