As part of Learning at Work Week 2025, WEEE Scotland was proud to host an engaging espresso workshop in collaboration with Costa Coffee, held at the Costa Training Academy located within our own repair facility in Glasgow. This year’s theme—“Connect and Grow, Connect and Inspire, Connect and Explore”—was brought to life through hands-on learning, knowledge sharing, and meaningful collaboration.
Our team members, Prasad Gavade and Robert G, joined Costa store managers for an immersive experience that went beyond brewing coffee. It became an opportunity to deepen cross-functional understanding, celebrate teamwork, and highlight the value of continuous learning in the workplace.
The session also allowed us to share more about our work behind the scenes—specifically how WEEE Scotland supports Costa Coffee’s sustainability goals through the refurbishment of electronic components used in their Express machines and the responsible recycling of e-waste. By extending the life of vital equipment and reducing the need for new materials, we help Costa Coffee lower its environmental impact while advancing circular economy practices.
Learning at Work Week provides a national platform to reinforce the importance of investing in people. At WEEE Scotland, we believe learning is not a one-time event—it’s a core part of how we evolve, innovate, and inspire one another across sectors.
A special thank you to Alice and the team at Costa Coffee for making it such a memorable and energising day. Together, we’re not only brewing better coffee—we’re building a more sustainable future, one connection at a time.
